4. How to Repair LED Outdoor Module?

(1) How to Replace a Broken LED Lamp in an Outdoor LED Module?

How do we replace the dead LED lamps for the outdoor LED module?

Required tools: Heat gun, test card, soldering iron, tweezer, tin wire, copper wire, solder paste.

Step 1: Remove the screws and take off the mask to start the repair process.

Step 2: Remove the conformal coating. Scrape off the protective conformal coating around the broken LED lamp. The exposed area should be clean and free of any residue.

Step 3: Carefully remove the broken LED lamp using tweezers.

Step 4: Apply a small amount of flux to the solder pads. Gently place the LED lamp onto the pads, ensuring it is positioned correctly. Solder the LED bead firmly in place.

Step 5: Once the LED is securely in place and cleaned, run a series of test patterns to ensure the LED displays normally.

Step 6: The final step of the repair process is to apply a conformal coating to the LED. It serves as a sealant to protect environmental factors.

(2) How to Replace a Broken IC?

Step 1: Identify the location of the damaged IC.

Step 2: Use tools to remove the damaged IC.

Step 3: Align the intact IC to the appropriate position and solder it with solder paste.
